Airborne Toxic Marketing Event

Written on 2 Jul, 2008 by jesswa in Muzak

Sham is ridiculously in love with the band Airborne Toxic Event. She dragged me to a concert a few weeks ago, which was pretty decent (although I liked the band before them a bit more - I think they were called The Deadly Syndrome? Or maybe it was The Henry Clay People…I can’t remember which was which. they were called The Deadly Syndrome.)

I listened to an early copy of the Airborne Toxic Event’s album, and there are a few catchy songs on there. It’s nothing mind blowing, but there are some decent songs on the record. But the reason I like the band is because they have a very cool marketing campaign to promote the album. I’m not sure if it’s something that the band came up with themselves or if it was a marketing firm, etc., but they are releasing an acoustic music video of each of the 10 songs on their upcoming album - one per week. All of the videos are done in one take and shot from one stationary (for the most part) camera. I definitely like the style and the concept of the whole thing, it’s very cool. But don’t take my word for it, check out the videos yourself.
